Gaussian Blur

I came across one of your effects
the other day and I couldn’t
tell if it was shrapnel from the
needly explosion of your arriving
or the airlock gasp of your                                     leaving.

Because it was all a blur in
changing circumstance and the
openness we enjoyed had barred
the door against the establishment
of you and me or even you vs me.

I can almost tally all the things
that didn’t happen.
